Relationships & Couples Psychotherapy
Relationships require work. But what happens when you and your partner are struggling and unsure as to what to do to thrive? When your relationship is suffering, you may feel:
-
Misunderstood, devalued or taken for granted
-
As if you’re walking on eggshells around your partner
-
That things aren’t getting better, despite your best efforts
-
Like there are walls up between you
-
Worried about your future together
-
That your partnership is transactional, not emotional
-
That you’re sacrificing to keep the peace
-
That trust is breached
-
That Intimacy is long gone
The role of Relationship therapy is to guide you and your partner through the difficult conversation you have been avoiding, including ones you did not realize you needed.

How I Approach Relationships Therapy?
There is a science to how relationships work, including evidence pointing to key factors that make relationships satisfying and long-lasting. In our collaborative relationship work, I will guide you and your partner to meaningfully reconnect, improve communication, repair conflict, strengthen trust and resolve issues that are solvable.
My approach focuses on changing maladaptive dynamics playing out in your relationship, and understanding the core issues causing tension or conflict in your shared lives. Together we address the patterns that create barriers between you, and support you to nourish each other in healthier ways.
For years, I have worked with couples of all ages and histories. I avidly believe in blending two highly effective approaches to Relationship therapy, and integrate:
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) -a type of therapy that is used to improve attachment and bonding in adult relationships. The approach was developed by doctors Sue Johnson and Les Greenberg in the 1980s and is rooted in research on love as an attachment bond.
The Gottman Method
Developed by John Gottman, who spent decades researching the most efficacious ways to support couples. The Method aims to: disarm conflict, improve communication, increase intimacy and remove barriers that create feelings stagnancy. Ultimately, couples who acquire these strategies are more equipped to foster long-lasting and meaningful relationships with each other.
My Relationship & Couples Counseling Expertise:
With over 20 years of specialty, I have worked with couples from all walks of life who have struggled with a multitude of issues. I acquire advanced training in blending Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method for Relationship Counseling, in my work with couples. No two couples are identical and therapy is always personalized to meet your unique partnership goals and support you to thrive.
